Mary was born in 1854 in Bolton.

Birth Notes

Mary's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Mary Ann (Martha) Jane Bolton. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Barlow and Betty (Elizabeth) Mather. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Robert, Isaac, Mary, Betty and Maria. She was the second oldest of the six children.
