Margaret Mather

Margaret was born in July 1850 in Belmont.¹

Margaret's father was Henry Mather and her mother was Mary Sim. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Whitehead and Margaret (Peggy) Mather. She had a brother and two sisters, named Joshua, Lucy and Hetty. She was the oldest of the four children. She had two half-brothers named George and Alexander.

  3 Oct 1868, Margaret Mather (18) married Henry Crompton (20), a bleacher at St Mary's, Bury.
  
  In 1871, Henry and Margaret (22 & 20) were at Tottington Lower End with two daughters and Hetty Mather (14), Margaret's younger sister.
  
  In 1881, Margaret and Henry Crompton (32 & 30) and family were living at Sandhill Bank, Tottington with Margaret's two half-brothers George and Alexander Mather with them.
