George was born on January 19th, 1862 in Edgworth.¹

Birth Notes

George's father was Henry Mather and his mother was Mary Taylor. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Whitehead and Margaret (Peggy) Mather. He had a brother named Alexander. He was the older of the two children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Joshua, Margaret, Lucy and Hetty. He died at the age of 82 on December 16th, 1944 in Bury.¹
