John Charles Mather

John was born in December 1920 in Sunderland.¹

Birth Notes

John's father was Wallace Mather and his mother was Martha Isabella Hammond. His paternal grandparents were John Charles Mather and Hephzibah Leigh; his maternal grandparents were William Hammond and Elizabeth Ann Scott. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Lily, William, Ronald, Hephzibah and Lydia. He was the third youngest of the six children.
