James Mather

James' father was John Mather and his mother was Sarah Anderton.  His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Betty Houghton. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Peter, James, William, John, Elizabeth, Maragret, Sarah and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 2 in March 1831 in Billinge.  He was buried on March 29th, 1831 at St. Aidan (Billinge).¹
