James Mather

James was born in December 1858 in Sharples.¹

Birth Notes

James' father was Ralph Mather and his mother was Ann Mayoh. His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Jane Entwistle. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Ralph, Alfred, Thomas, Emma and Agnes. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named James, Margaret, Jane and Margery. He died at the age of 2 in December 1860 in Over Darwen.²
