James Mather

James' father was Henry Mather and his mother was Sarah (Sally) Swindels. His paternal grandparents were James Topping and Alice Mather. He had six brothers and four sisters, named William, Levi, Joseph, Andrew, John, Peter, Molly, Mally, Alice and Mary. He had two adopted brothers named Henry and James. He died at the age of 6 in October 1840 in Pendleton. His burial was on October 18th, 1840 in Deane.²
