Hannah was born in 1831 in WestLeigh.1  Hannah's father was Henry Mather and her mother was Alice Boardman.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Mather and Betty Keele. She had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Henry, Betty, Mary and Ann.  She was the youngest of the six children.
