Betty was born in 1809 in WestLeigh and her baptism took place on June 10th, 1809 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).1  Betty's father was Henry Mather and her mother was Alice Boardman.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Mather and Betty Keele. She had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Henry, Mary, Ann and Hannah.  She was the oldest of the six children.

‌Betty and John were married in a religious ceremony on June 6th, 1834 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).2   The family line is yet to be completed.
