Ann was born in 1826 in Pennington.1  Ann's father was Henry Mather and her mother was Alice Boardman.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Mather and Betty Keele. She had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Henry, Betty, Mary and Hannah.  She was the second youngest of the six children.
