Hannah Mather

Hannah was born in 1829 in Bolton.¹

  Hannah may have been the bastard child refered to in the 1826 order (Nov 1826) on James Mather, so born in Chorley, not Bolton. However, the age is also incorrect

Hannah's father was James Mather and her mother was Alice Hartley. Her paternal grandparents were John Mather and Betty Sutcliff. She had a brother and four sisters, named Wright, Betsy, Mary, Alice and Emma. She was the oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 84 on July 16th, 1913 in Little Bolton. Her burial was in July 1913 at Tonge-with-Haulgh Cemetery.²

General Notes
- Hannah was with her parents in 1841 (aged 12) and 1851 (aged 22). She had left home (married) by 1861.
  
  In 1856, Hannah Mather married George Hampson (Bolton RO). This is the only marriage of a Hannah Mather in the 1850s at Bolton. They had a son John in Little Bolton in 1863.
  
  In 1861, George & Hannah Hampson (28 & 32) were at 44 Abbey Street, Little Bolton.
  
  In 1871, George and Hannah Hampson (38 & 42) were at 24 Rhyl Street, Little Bolton with son John (7).
  
  Hannah died July 16th 1913, aged 84 years
