Wright was born in December 1846 in Bolton.1  Wright's father was James Mather and his mother was Alice Hartley.  His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Betty Sutcliff. He had five sisters named Hannah, Betsy, Mary, Alice and Emma.  He was the youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 21 on April 12th, 1868 in Bolton.  He was buried in April 1868 at Tonge-with-Haulgh Cemetery.2 3
