Francis Mather

Francis was born on February 23rd, 1792 in Redvales and his baptism took place on February 26th, 1792.¹²

Francis' father was Francis Mather and his mother was Elizabeth Chadwick. He had four brothers and five sisters, named John, Richard, John, James, Mary, Hannah, Sally, Hannah and Esther. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 66 in 1858.

- 11 Dec 1814, Francis Mather married Margaret Horocks at Bury St Mary.
  
  From 1815 to 1818, Francis was a Bookkeeper at Redvales, South Bury.
  
  In 1820, when Martha was baptised, Francis was a Woolen Manufacturer. By 1823 he had become a draper.
  
  In 1842, Esther, daughter of Francis Mather a draper married Thomas Ashworth. Was Esther = Martha?
  
  In 1851, Francis (59) a retired draper and Margaret (62) were at Stand, Pilkington with daughter Elizabeth (34) visiting. They also had a servant.

  From 1847 his occupation was Gentleman. He died in 1858 while still employed there.
