Elizabeth Mather

Elizabeth was born in April 1837 in Atherton and her baptism took place on April 30th, 1837 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).^1 2

Elizabeth's father was Richard Mather and her mother was Elizabeth Buckley.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert Mather and Jane (Jenny) Sale. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Edward, James, John, Richard, Martha and Ann.  She was the youngest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 76 in December 1913 in Haslingden.³
