Eliza Mather

Eliza was born in 1842 in Whitefield and her baptism took place on January 6th, 1842 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Prestwich).¹²

Eliza's father was Robert Mather and her mother was Alice Whitworth. Her paternal grandparents were Jesse Mather and Hannah Emmerson. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Jesse, Richard, Nancy, Margaret and Mary. She was the third oldest of the six children. She had two half-sisters named Sarah and Elizabeth.
