Charlotte Mather

Charlotte was born in 1824 in Withnell.¹

Birth Notes
- Aged 17 in 1841

Charlotte's father was Richard Mather and her mother was Ann Marsden. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Mather and Peggy Duerden. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Robert, Miles, Margaret, Betty and Sarah. She was the oldest of the seven children.

Death Notes
- Does not appear to have married and is missing by 1851. However, the Charlotte that died in 1848 (below) was aged 70 (not 25).

- In 1840 Charlotte Mather, probably this had an illegitimate daughter Elizabetrh then died an infant.
  
  In 1841, Charlotte Mather was 17 and living in Halliwell
  
  In 1851, Charlotte was missing. She may have been married to Jeremiah Gregory from Heaton. Charlotte Gregory was 29 and a weaver from Halliwell, and Charlotte was the daughter of Charles Hornby, so perhaps only living with the Mather family as a maid in 1841.
  
  In 1859, It was another Charlotte (born 1821, Wigan) that married William Platt at Bolton All Saints and later lived in L.B.

- From 1841 Charlotte's occupation was Cotton Doubler in Halliwell.
