Betty was born on June 10th, 1819 in Lowton and her baptism took place there on July 4th, 1819.1 2  Betty's father was Charles Mather and her mother was Mary Bently. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Thomas, James, Charles, Isaac, John, Ann, Ann, Mary and Catherine.  She was the third oldest of the eleven children.  She died at the age of 39 in March 1859 in Lowton.  She was buried on March 31st, 1859 at Lower Mill St. (Ludlow).2
