Thomas' father was Charles Mather and his mother was Mary Bently. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, James, Charles, Isaac, John, Ann, Betty, Ann, Mary and Catherine.  He was the second oldest of the eleven children.  He died at 10 months old in August 1818 in Lowton.  He was buried on August 9th, 1818 at St. Luke (Lowton).¹
