Ann was born in June 1838 in Billinge.1  Ann's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Rebecca Atherton.  Her paternal grandparents were John Mather and Betty Houghton. She had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Thomas, Mary, Alice and Margaret.  She was the youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 1 in July 1839 in Billinge.  She was buried on July 21st, 1839 at St. Aidan (Billinge).2
