Margaret Hopley

Margaret was born in October 1808 in Shocklach and her christening took place there on October 16th, 1808.¹

Margaret's father was Robert Hopley and her mother was Margaret Richards. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Hopley and Catherine Lewis; her maternal grandparents were Richard Richards and Anne Phythian. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Robert, Thomas, William, Samuel, Anne, Margaret and Jane. She was the seventh oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 89 on January 2nd, 1898 in Ellesmere.²

- Another Margaret Holpey (same age) died in Tildton in 1889, aged 81y, but she was born in Threapwood, Flintshire, the wife of Peter Hopley.

- Another Margaret Holpey (same age) died in Tilston in 1889, aged 81y, but she was born in Threapwood, Flintshire, the wife of Peter Hopley.
  
  Margret maried a wealthy Thomas Moyal of Hampton in 1835, with a society wedding at Chester. Hampton Hall is a lage mansion just outside Malpas. Their son Richard had a large store in Bolton.
