John Hopley

John was born in 1856 in Stoke upon Trent.¹ John's father was Randle (Robert) Dod-Hopley and his mother was Mariane (Mary Ann) Broomfield. His paternal grandparents were Robert Dod-Hopley and Ann Hopley. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Robert, Charles, William, John, Mary and Mary. He was the third oldest of the seven children.

General Notes
- John was recorded as Grandson in 1861, so father could be another brothers (i.e. John), although Randle (aka Robert) appears to be the only one to have married and had a family.
