Maria Hodson

Maria's father was William Hodson and her mother was Maria Collins. Her maternal grandparents were William Collings and Maria Mather. She had three brothers and four sisters, named John, Luke, William, Nancy, Mary, Eliza and Sarah. She was the third oldest of the eight children.

- In 1878, Maria Hodson married William Whittle (Bolton RO).
  
  In 1881, Maria and William (20 & 23) already had two sons William (4) and Thomas H (2). They were living with William's mother in Little Bolton.
  
  In 1896, William and Maria Whittle were witness to Mary Ann's second marriage
