Isaac's father was Isaac Greenhalgh and his mother was Betty Mather. His maternal grandparents were <unknown> and Catherine Mather. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Abraham, James, William, Ann, Jane and Betty. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 65 in November 1912 in Bolton. His burial was on November 12th, 1912 at Christ Church, Walmsley.³
