Abraham was born in April 1845 in Sharples and his baptism took place on June 24th, 1845 at St. Paul's (Astley Bridge).1 2  Abraham's father was Isaac Greenhalgh and his mother was Betty Mather.  His maternal grandparents were <unknown> and Catherine Mather. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Isaac, James, William, Ann, Jane and Betty.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 7 in October 1852 in Turton.  He was buried on October 24th, 1852 at Christ Church, Walmsley.3 4
