Christiana was born on July 1st, 1836 in Horwich and her baptism took place on October 25th, 1836 in Bridge Street Chapel (Methodist).¹²

Birth Notes

Christiana's father was Robert Mather (Greenhalgh) and her mother was Jane Rushton. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Greenhalgh and Ann Mather. She had six brothers and a sister, named Abraham, John, Henry, Robert, Robert, Peter and Betty. She was the fourth youngest of the eight children.
