Abraham was born in April 1827 in Bolton and his baptism took place on April 15th, 1827 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹²

Birth Notes

Abraham's father was Robert Mather (Greenhalgh) and his mother was Jane Rushton. His paternal grandparents were Richard Greenhalgh and Ann Mather. He had five brothers and two sisters, named John, Henry, Robert, Robert, Peter, Betty and Christiana. He was the oldest of the eight children.
