James Farnworth

James was born in April 1869 in Farnworth and his baptism took place on April 26th, 1869 at St. John the Evangelist (Failsworth).¹²

James' father was Moses Farnworth and his mother was Betsy Mather. His maternal grandparents were Hugh Mather and Alice Crompton. He had three brothers and five sisters, named James, Abraham, Robert, Elizabeth, Alice, Mary, Ada and Jane. He was the third oldest of the nine known children. He died at 9 months old in January 1870 in Farnworth.¹
