Edith (Ada) Farnworth

Edith, known as Ada, was born on May 14th, 1880 in Farnworth and her baptism took place on July 25th, 1880 at St. John the Evangelist (Failsworth).¹²

Ada's father was Moses Farnworth and her mother was Betsy Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Hugh Mather and Alice Crompton. She had four brothers and four sisters, named James, James, Abraham, Robert, Elizabeth, Alice, Mary and Jane. She was the eighth oldest of the nine known children.

- Bith registered as Ada, but baptised Edith. There were two other Ada births registered in Bolton in 1880/81.
