Lillian was born in March 1882 in Birkenhead.¹

Lillian's father was William Eddowes and her mother was Elizabeth Shortreid. Her paternal grandparents were John Eddowes and Mary Whitfield. She had three brothers and four sisters, named John, William, John, Agnes, Jessie, Esther and Jennet. She was the youngest of the eight children. She died in an accident or as a result of an injury, Accidental Burning, at the age of 28 on November 17th, 1910 in Birkenhead. The funeral took place at the Flaybrick Memorial Gardens and was arranged by Charles Stevens. Her burial was in November 1910 at the Flaybrick Memorial Gardens.²¹

General Notes
- In 1901, Lillian was living with Richard and Esther at the Bird in Hand, Birkenhead.
  
  Each of Lillians children alive in 1911 were left £20 in trust, in the will of here mother Elizabeth Eddowes in 1911.
  
  In Nov 1910, Lillian Eddowes, aged 29 died, killed after a house fire at her home at 4 Wood Street, Birkenhead. The fire was on the 17th Nov, and Lillian died at Birkenhead Burough Hospital two days later.
  
  Lillian and John Francis's four children were sent to St. Vincent's, a Poor Law School in Fulwood, Preston, and were subsequently split up. How sad!
