Catherine's father was John Davies and her mother was Ann Whitfield.  Her maternal grandparents were John Whitfield and Mary Tomlinson. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Robert, Joseph, Thomas, John, Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah and Maria.  She was the third youngest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 4 in June 1842 in Caca Duton.  She was buried on June 15th, 1842 in Is-y-Coed.²
