General Notes
There is another John Crooke of Manchester born 1777, the son of Thomas Crook, and another, the son of Richard and Betty.
John and Rachel were in Tonge 1767-1769 when the children were baptised.
In 1806, Wife Ann probably died. There are no Bolton births after Jacob and Martha in 1803-05, so John may have remarried. It could be they moved (there are births of Mary and Robert in 1811-12 at Middleton, but that family is John Crook and Ann Howard, who married at Middleton in 1810).
In 1831, John (Jno) Crook was recorded in Duncan Street.
In 1841, John, 68 was living in Duncan Street. His son Jacob (and wife Jane) were a few doors away. Both were cotton weavers.
Another John (65) & Mary (57) were at Harwood in 1841, so we have the wrong John or this is another closly related (as the Crook family are farmers, and come from Harwood).
Occupation Details
From after 1841 John's occupation was Cotton Weaver in Bolton.3
John and Ann were married in a religious ceremony on October 14th, 1802 in Bolton.4 They had a son and a daughter, named Jacob and Martha. There are no more children.
