Lucy's father was James (John) Clutton and her mother was Mary Ann Eddowes. Her maternal grandparents were John Eddowes and Mary Whitfield. She had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Thomas, James, William, Mary and Eleanor. She was the second oldest of the seven children. She had a half-sister named Mary. She died at the age of 7 in February 1862. Her burial was on February 11th, 1862 in Holt.¹
