Eleanor Clutton

Eleanor was born in January 1862 in Caca Duton and her baptism took place on January 31st, 1862 in Holt.¹

Eleanor's father was James (John) Clutton and her mother was Mary Ann Eddowes. Her maternal grandparents were John Eddowes and Mary Whitfield. She had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Thomas, James, William, Mary and Lucy. She was the fifth oldest of the seven children. She had a half-sister named Mary. She died at the age of 68 on May 30th, 1930 in Wrexham.²

  In 1891, Eleanor (29) was Head at 20 Crescent Road, Wrexham and a Provision Dealer. She had her cousin Clara Eddowes (16) working with her as a general servant. She was widowed and had no children of her own.
  
  In 1893, Eleanor then married James Royle, a Blacksmith and in 1901 also had her mother (now Mary Ann Griffiths) living with them.
  
  In 1911, James and Eleanor (44 & 45) with no children of their own were Innkeeepers at the Royal Oak, Newbridge, Ruabon.
  
  30 May 1930, Eleanor of 15 Hightown Road, Wrexham (wife of James Royd) died leaving £707 to James Royle Inn-keeper.
