Rupert was born on December 20th, 1890 in Hooley Hill and his baptism took place on December 28th, 1890 in Audenshaw.1 2  Rupert's father was Henry Buckley and his mother was Ann Hallsworth.  His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Buckley and Patience Oldham. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Arthur, Joseph, John, Frank, Ernest, Alice and Nellie.  He was the third youngest of the eight children.  He died as an infant in December 1890 in Hooley Hill.  He was buried on December 31st, 1890 in Audenshaw.3 1
