Hannah was born in 1834 in Bolton.1 Hannah's father was Jonathan Buckley and her mother was Mary Webster. Her paternal grandparents were John Buckley and Mary Crook. She had five brothers and three sisters, named William, John, Joseph, Benjamin, Levi, Ellen, Mary and Sarah. She was the oldest of the nine children.
