Levi's father was Jonathan Buckley and his mother was Mary Webster. His paternal grandparents were John Buckley and Mary Crook. He had four brothers and four sisters, named William, John, Joseph, Benjamin, Hannah, Ellen, Mary and Sarah. He was the youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 60 on November 17th, 1912 in Darcy Lever.²
