Sarah's father was John Brereton and her mother was Jane Harrison. She had a brother and eight sisters, named Joseph, Elizabeth, Hannah, Mary, Elizabeth, Harriet, Jane, Martha and Ann.  She was the second youngest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 5 in November 1818 in Gawsworth.  She was buried on November 14th, 1818 in Gawsworth.¹
