13 Aug 1828, Martha Brereton of Macclesfield, spinster married John Allen, a farmer at Prestbury St Peter.

In 1841, John, a wood turner, and Martha (35 & 30) were at Pepper Street, Mobberley with assumed son William (13).

In 1851, John and Martha (46 & 42) were still living at Pepper Street, Mobberley with granddaughter Mary Ann (6)

In 1871, John and Martha (66 & 63) were at West Macclesfield  Martha, born Gawsworth, confirms the correct marriage..
