Richard was born in December 1855 in Harthill.¹

Birth Notes

Richard's father was Richard Brereton and his mother was Elizabeth Carr. His paternal grandparents were Richard Brereton and (Elizabeth) Ellen Lea. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William, Thomas, George, Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah and Martha. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 79 in 1934.
