John Harrold POINTON

John was born on January 3rd, 1890 in Jamestown, SA.¹   John's father was Thomas POINTON and his mother was Mary Ann DOWTY.  His paternal grandparents were James POINTON and Peggy POLKINGHORNE. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Henry, Edgar, Myra, Flossie, Rosetta, Ella and Sylvia.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight known children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named John, Arthur, Edith and Ethel.
