George Hargraves 
George was born in 1851 in Armley, Leeds, Yorkshire.1 George's father was William Hargraves and his mother was Susannah Coates. His paternal grandparents were John Hargraves and Mary; his maternal grandparents were John Coates and Ann Snell. He had six brothers and eight sisters, named James, William, John, Joseph, Thomas, Richard, Mary, Hannah, Sarah, Martha, Elizabeth, Jane, Emma and Eliza. He was the seventh youngest of the fifteen children.-
