Rebecca Whitling

Rebecca was born on October 29th, 1826 in Burneston, Yorkshire, England.¹   Rebecca's father was John Whitling and her mother was Mary Couldwell.  Her paternal grandparents were John Whitling and Ann Snarey; her maternal grandparents were Richard Couldwell and Jane Hesseltine. She had three brothers and five sisters, named John, Richard, Henry, Jane, Emma, Marianne, Eliza and Harriet.  She was the second youngest of the nine children.
