Emma Whitling

Emma was born in 1815 and her christening took place on January 17th, 1815 in Burneston, Yorkshire.  Emma's father was John Whitling and her mother was Mary Couldwell.  Her paternal grandparents were John Whitling and Ann Snarey; her maternal grandparents were Richard Couldwell and Jane Hesseltine. She had three brothers and five sisters, named John, Richard, Henry, Jane, Marianne, Eliza, Harriet and Rebecca.  She was the second oldest of the nine children.
