Pleasant Harvey was born in August 1848 in Rockingham Co, NC.1 Pleasant Harvey's father was John Roberts and his mother was Minerva Thomas. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Roberts and Sarah Joyce. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, William M., Jackson, Jones Washington, John B., Marion Karen and Sarah. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Thomas and Daughter.1 General Notes
