Jefferson R. was born on August 7th, 1805 in Muhlenberg Co, KY.1 Jefferson R.'s father was Osias Welch and his mother was Elizabeth Rowland. His maternal grandparents were Joseph Rowland and Catherine Dobbins. He had five brothers and three sisters, named George Washington, James A., William Rowland, Benjamine J., Isaac R., Mahala, Malinda and Elizabeth. He had six half-brothers and five half-sisters, named John, Keziah, Jesse, Richard, Thomas, Joseph, Sally, Mary (Polly), Sally, Mary Ann and Pauline. He died at the age of 78 on November 30th, 1883 in Emmet Township, McDonough Co, IL.1 -
