James Gignilliat Hopkins

James Gignilliat was born on March 29th, 1852 in Wayne Co, GA.¹ James Gignilliat's father was Thomas Spalding Hopkins and his mother was Jane Elizabeth Gignilliat. His paternal grandparents were Francis Hopkins and Rebecca Sayre. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Thomas Nichols, Octavius, Robert Riley, John May G., Mary Elizabeth, Georgia Day, Anna Jane J. and Julietta Cora. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Francis William, Henry William, Louisa Jane and Cecelia Bonita.¹
