Georgia Day was born on September 3rd, 1861 in Wayne Co, GA.¹ Georgia Day's father was Thomas Spalding Hopkins and her mother was Jane Elizabeth Gignilliat. Her paternal grandparents were Francis Hopkins and Rebecca Sayre. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Thomas Nichols, Octavius, James Gignilliat, Robert Riley, John May G., Mary Elizabeth, Anna Jane J. and Julietta Cora. She was the third youngest of the nine children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Francis William, Henry William, Louisa Jane and Cecelia Bonita. She died at 11 months old on August 15th, 1862 in Wayne Co, GA.¹
