Martha Penelope was born on April 30th, 1863 in Beaufort Co., SC.1 Martha Penelope's father was Allen Nelson Dean and her mother was Anne Peeples. Her paternal grandparents were Allen Jones Dean and Sarah Thial; her maternal grandfather was Henry Peeples. She had five brothers and five sisters, named William Henry, Jesse Barnwell, James Allen, Oliver Nelson, John Hansford, Eliza Sophnonia, Sarah Pernease, Rachel Salena, Ann Elizabeth and Mary Rebecca. She was the second youngest of the eleven children. She died about 1935. She was buried in Savannah, Chatham Co., GA.1 1 -
