Eliza Sophnonia Dean 
Eliza Sophnonia was born on April 20th, 1843 in Beaufort Co., SC.1 Eliza Sophnonia's father was Allen Nelson Dean and her mother was Anne Peeples. Her paternal grandparents were Allen Jones Dean and Sarah Thial; her maternal grandfather was Henry Peeples. She had five brothers and five sisters, named William Henry, Jesse Barnwell, James Allen, Oliver Nelson, John Hansford, Sarah Pernease, Rachel Salena, Ann Elizabeth, Mary Rebecca and Martha Penelope. She was the oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 69 on August 20th, 1912. She was buried in Beaufort Co., SC.1 1 General Notes
