Strangeman was born on November 7th, 1745 in Hanover Co., VA. Strangeman's father was James+ Stanley and his mother was Catherine+ Hutchins. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Horton+ Stanley and Elizabeth+ Patten; his maternal grandparents were Nicholas+ Hutchins and Mary+ Holmes Watkins. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William, Elijah+, James Jr., Caleb, Micajah, Mary, Martha and Agnes. He was the youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 83 on June 20th, 1829 in Fairfield Mm, Highland Co., OH.General Notes
